There are three psychological primary colours, each that trigger specific behaviours.
White
The colour white is perceived as a pure colour as it carries wavelengths of the visible light spectrum. White creates a feeling of tidiness within homes. Interior designers love using the colour white as it is the master of implementing designing colours (Bailey 2019).

Red
Red's first action is to trigger physical responses. Research has proven that the colour red raises our heart rate, causing our pulse rate to increase, making time feel faster than it is (Haller 2019). The colour also activates the 'fight or flight' instinct in responding to a threat or attack. Within interior architecture, the colour red is commonly used to enhance and import a significant meaning to a room. Visually used within a building, the colour can generate a significant and striking design and importance.

Blue
Blue affects our intellect. The colour's first action is to trigger mental responses. The colour has proven to reduce blood pressure and generate relaxation. Blue can be used within interior design to cool a room and create a peacefulness within a home (Bailey 2019).
